I was born in a suburb on the outskirts of East London within the county of Essex. As an adult I moved away, but later returned to serve the community working as a London Firefighter. I never planned to become an author, however, I found writing about my experiences as a child and later about the untimely death of my wife really helped with the grieving process. I hope that my story will help and encourage others to talk about their grief and loved ones. It’s okay not to be okay!

Papermill Lock Tearoom Book signing 8th April 2023

I was first told about this pretty canal and lock by a firefighter friend many years ago, when I was looking for somewhere to take my children. Both Jason and Mia loved coming here with me, a nice walk along the canal, looking at the "Rosie & Jim" barges, then finish up having tea and cake at the tearoom.

Sharon and I would often visit this beautiful place, being only 20mins from where we lived it was the perfect location to enjoy the peace and tranquility. This photo was taken just after one of her chemotherapy treatment sessions.

After Sharon's passing, I spent many hours sitting here and reflecting. I wrote Sharon's funeral eulogy whilst sitting in the same seat.

I also wrote sections of my book 'LOVE BEYOND LOVE' here.

I'm planning another book signing at Papermill Lock Tearoom, date to be announced soon. Keep watching my posts and events for further detail.
