I was born in a suburb on the outskirts of East London within the county of Essex. As an adult I moved away, but later returned to serve the community working as a London Firefighter. I never planned to become an author, however, I found writing about my experiences as a child and later about the untimely death of my wife really helped with the grieving process. I hope that my story will help and encourage others to talk about their grief and loved ones. It’s okay not to be okay!

Meet Up With Jan - 5th December 2022

Met up with Jan Smith today, to hand her a copy of my book. I first met Jan in the chemo ward at Broomfield Hospital where she volunteered to provide relaxing reflexology to patients, while they were having chemotherapy treatment.

Jan helped Sharon to relax and the two of them would talk lots about all sorts of things.

Jan was devastated when I told her of Sharon’s passing. We exchanged numbers and kept in contact via messages and Facebook, where she provided caring words of support for me.

I later asked Jan to proofread my book and to write the back page blurb.
