I was born in a suburb on the outskirts of East London within the county of Essex. As an adult I moved away, but later returned to serve the community working as a London Firefighter. I never planned to become an author, however, I found writing about my experiences as a child and later about the untimely death of my wife really helped with the grieving process. I hope that my story will help and encourage others to talk about their grief and loved ones. It’s okay not to be okay!

EARLY ONE MORNING

I love watching the changing seasons from my studio. All times of the day are wonderful, but the best time for me has to be early morning, just as the sun begins to rise, sending out rays of orange and yellow.

Not only does it look so beautiful, I can feel it, a gentle breeze moves over my skin. I can smell the fresh country air.

It quiet, really quiet, no sound of traffic or emergency vehicle sirens what I used to hear. Hang on, wait a minute! Its not really that quiet after all, just different sounds.

I can hear the breeze rustle the leaves on the tree. Birds waking up singing and chirping, cows can be heard mooing in the distant. A bumble bee buzzes past feeling the warmth on its wings.
